It's been a lazy week of the school holidays. Tom and I have spent a lot of time arguing about how much time he is spending playing Fortnite which is the first computer game he's really been obsessed with. He's also suffered from a bad asthma attack which has stopped him from surfing quite as much. He tried to surf on Monday but had to get out of the surf after 15 minutes because he knew if he got held down by a wave he wouldn't be able to hold his breath for as long as usual. Scary, but a good thing for him to be aware of. Another day he caught up with friends for a long walk around Narrabeen Lakes which I thought was lovely but a slightly odd choice for a bunch of 12 year olds. I'm glad they can enjoy nature as well as computer games!
Tess and I had a lovely shopping trip together and once again came to the conclusion that we're both really bad at shopping! She also spent some time catching up with friends and even more time sitting in her bedroom in the sunshine watching the Friends series on her iPad - she is obsessed!
On Saturday I took myself off to the City for a bit of a shopping expedition - I was actually trying to make a start on Christmas presents. Early I know but I like to be prepared! I didn't do very well with the shopping (see paragraph above) but I had a lovely time wandering around and it made me feel a little bit like being on holiday as I very rarely go into the City.
