I had a tennis injury on Friday where my partner and I were running for the same ball, crashed into each other, I fell to the floor landing heavily on my right buttock and she landed on top of me. We were having a great game so I continued playing despite the pain. I got home, put on an ice pack, waited for 30 mins and then took Ted for a walk but as I drove him up to the park I noticed that it was getting quite sore to sit and drive. I asked Tom to get the bus home so that I could limit the amount of driving I did. Meanwhile I noticed that my right buttock was enormous, Kim Kardashian sized (I can now appreciate why one might want buttock implants!) and the pain levels were increasing. By about 5pm I was really in quite serious pain and decided I needed to go and lie down on my bed. I woke up a few minutes later lying on the floor wondering where I was - I had fainted due to the pain. I lay there for a few minutes listening to Tess practice the piano and Tom shouting at his friends playing Fortnite. I didn't feel able to move so tried shouting to get the kids attention. Tom eventually heard me and bought me a pillow for my head and my phone. The kids were adamant I should go to hospital but I felt a bit silly so I phoned a friend of mine who's a physio and asked her what she advised. We agreed I probably needed some heavy duty pain killers and the best place to get those on a Friday night was A&E so once Jules came home from work we headed off to Manly Hospital. Tom had a water polo game so Tess waited with me at the hospital which was actually very lovely and we spent a happy couple of hours playing word games on my phone. I eventually saw a doctor by which time my right buttock was more Chloe Kardashian sized. The doctor gave me some morphine based drugs and sent me home. I've been surprisingly fine ever since - I get a bit tired by the end of the day because it's still painful walking and sitting down is unpleasant but I haven't needed anymore pain killers so hopefully I'll be back on the tennis court soon!

Me in hospital trying to get comfortable - sitting down wasn't easy
The temperatures hit 31C on Saturday and Manly beach was packed - the weather forecasters are telling us we're going to have a long, hot summer. Tom had board training and afterwards we were standing looking out at the surf when we noticed 2 girls who were quite far out. Jules, the lifesaver, was concerned they might be in trouble so he sent Tom out on his board to check. The girls were fine but Tom felt good putting his training into practice :)
