A dog's dinner

It was a long weekend here thanks to the Queen and her birthday.  Given Jules had recently come back from the UK we were a bit disorganised and decided to stay in Sydney.  We had a last minute dinner at our place with the Rivers, Kernahans, Lynches and Connors.  We were looking after Edgar for the weekend and the Kernahans have just taken delivery of a little labrador cross puppy called Gus so he came to dinner too.  At first he was terrified of the big dogs but he soon settled down and kept trying to steal their big boy beds!

 Gus - very cute!

On Sunday we had the annual Nippers Awards Presentation and we had been told that Tom was getting an award so despite the beautiful weather we had to go.  Tom almost missed it because he was out SUPing with his mate Billy.  Thank goodness they saw my car when I was looking for Tom and came to see what was going on!  Tom got 2 awards: bronze for the water events at Club Championships and even better, the Surf Lifesaver Award for his age group which basically means he embodies everything that is being a surf lifesaver: teamwork, positivity, surf skills etc.  A lovely award for him to receive especially as he still blows hot and cold with the competition side of Nippers.
Can you tell he didn't want his photo taken??

Tess seemed to divide her weekend evenly between doing lots of schoolwork and catching up with her friends.  She found out that she got a B+ for her Grade 7 piano which was a fantastic result and she's already started work on her Grade 8 pieces.  We're so proud of her!
