Nanas and Neighbours

Lisa and I had a shopping day in the City during the week and we were delighted to discover that we were there for the annual David Jones Flower Show.  We then realised we've turned into our grandmothers.......!!!

Jules and I had a social weekend with dinner at the Wakes-Millers on Friday and dinner out with our neighbours, Geoff and Frances, on Saturday.  We went to a local Afghan restaurant and the food was tremendous!

Tom had his Surf Life Saving Exam on Saturday which he's been working hard for over the past month.  Sadly his entire cohort failed and they have to do it again this Thursday!  It was a bit of a shock to everyone and the trainers have put on lots of extra sessions to help the kids.  Fingers crossed they'll get through this time.  Passing the exam allows Tom to patrol the beaches during the summer months like Jules does.  

Our neighbours are looking after a friend's dog who is an escape artist.  Chum Chum escaped on Sunday whilst Geoff and Frances were out on the harbour so we got an emergency call from them and Chum Chum came to hang out with us for a couple of hours.  Ted wasn't entirely sure what to make of him and kept bouncing around trying to get him to play.  However, Chum Chum is a bit older than Ted and not hugely interested in playing with a boisterous teenager.  He's a very cute dog - looks a bit like Basil Brush - and we all enjoyed having him around.
