Formals and graduating high school

It's been a very busy week with 3 formals and a valete assembly to celebrate Tess graduating from high school. Sadly I have no photos of the assembly but it was lovely and we were very lucky to have one with all the recent restrictions.

Tess had a valedictory dinner at a fancy hotel in the City on Wednesday night which Jules and I got to go to. It was a lovely emotional evening. Sadly this is the only photo I have - I didn't do very well with photos of Tess' events.

I was however very happy with the 2 photos above. Tom had his first formal also on the Wednesday night so whilst it was an unhappy coincidence having both major events on the same evening at least it allowed me to get some lovely photos with both of them dressed up. For Tom this was his school formal and he took his great friend Tia who looked gorgeous.

On Thursday night Tia had her school formal so the two of them had to do it all again. The formal was held in the same location as the previous evening and there was quite an overlap of party guests which made for another fun night.

We put up the tree on Saturday evening and had a lovely dinner to celebrate Tess graduating again - there can never be too many celebrations. On Sunday morning I drove Tess and some of her girlfriends to the airport for Schoolies - an Australian tradition where all graduating students gather in the same location for a week of debauchery. It's usually on the Gold Coast in Queensland but due to covid the borders are shut so it's relocated to Byron which frankly is a much nicer location. We had serious issues fitting all the suitcases in the car - the girls haven't yet learned how to pack light!

On Sunday morning Jules and Tom had surf patrol. It was a cold and wet day which has been the pattern so far this summer. The boys were freezing when they got home.

And finally I leave you with a photo of Ted recovering from major surgery again :( He doesn't seem to be adversely affected but this can't keep happening!
