Tess finished her final exam on Monday and we celebrated with champagne and a few games.
On Saturday evening we had the Mennies round for an early Christmas dinner as they're heading north for a month starting mid December. We had a lovely evening playing hunt the thimble and cranium.
This is mid Cranium - the boys spent a lot of time looking like this particularly when Tom was in the driving seat!
Talking of driving Tom took his Driver Knowledge Test on Wednesday and failed which was a huge shock and very concerning as there is a huge backlog of people wanting to do tests because of the lockdown. He and I spent a frantic hour trying to book another test checking every driving centre in the Greater Sydney area and eventually managed to get him a spot on Friday in Penrith. I paid Tess to take him and luckily this time he passed. The moment he got home we went out and did a couple of laps of Tania Park. I felt quite confident with him as he's done a lot of driving at the farm.
Jules' cruiser has been out of action with a dead battery for quite a number of weeks. He tried jumping the battery and bought a new one but nothing was working so the poor car got towed to the garage on Friday. Fingers crossed it's nothing terminal.
And just to add another interesting dimension to an already busy week on Sunday morning Jules took Ted to the all hours emergency vet who confirmed there was a material object stuck in his intestines. I've lost count but I think this is the 5th sock removal and the most expensive because we now need a specialist surgeon. I'm not sure how we're supposed to stop this happening although Tom picking his clothes up off the floor would be a start...
Oh and there's now lots of stories about a new variant of the Coronavirus which may lock us all down again. Just when you thought it was safe to leave your house!
