Another weekend in the commune! We started Saturday with a text from our next door neighbour offering to take the children to the zoo. It was timely because Jules and I needed to spend some time investigating pool fences and front doors. I've never really paid much attention to front doors; the choice is completely overwhelming and nothing seemed quite right for our house so we gave up. Not much more luck with the pool fence either as the most basic aluminium fence is unattractive and expensive so I think we've decided to do our own fence in wood.
Once the kids were back from the zoo they were in and out of each other's houses again and after a brief swim in the pool had dinner and a bath together. Whilst at the zoo Tess turned to Lisa and Craig and said "this is the furthest I've ever walked without crying" and Tom impressed his friend Hunter by falling over 3 times, grazing his knee and due to the beauty of peer pressure not crying after the first time because of Hunter exclaiming "I can't believe how brave you are!".
Sunday was a beautiful day and much quieter. I took the kids to the beach whilst Jules was sailing. Unfortunately there were only 3 of them on board and strong winds which meant they ended up 2nd from last (but still beat the other J24 racing). One can't be too upset though as it's always good for the handicap!
I am deliberately not mentioning the renovations - far too stressful although the floor guy has laid the floor how we asked and it already looks fantastic and will look even better once it's sanded and polished. The kitchen was due to be completed by next Friday but given the delays with the floor I'm not too sure where we are with the timetable and am trying not to think about it.
