It sure is dry around here!

Jules has decided to do "dry July" - no alcohol for the whole month of July.  It lasted until 7pm on 1st July.  Undeterred he's decided to add a day on the end and to continue as if nothing has happened.  I have to admit I'm not being wholly supportive - I'm still drinking.  To be honest, I don't think I have a drink problem - I drink, I don't have a problem with it - so I'm not tempted to test myself in this unnecessary fashion.  However, I will try to help Jules by not drinking during the week.  It's very handy at the weekend because we now have a designated driver - no more arguments!

We've had a relatively quiet weekend which was great.  Jules gave himself early marks on Friday and got home at 3.30 so we took the kids for a lovely bush walk as it was a beautiful day.  On Saturday Jules and Craig took the kids on another bush walk but this time heading down to Clontarf where all the kids ended up paddling in the sea.  In the evening we went round to Duncan and Bella's house for dinner.  It's been a while since we've seen them and Tess was very excited to see all her cousins.

On Sunday Tom went to the birthday party of one of his friends from kindy.  It was a racing car party and the kids all did races dressed up as racing cars which had been made from cardboard boxes by the birthday boy's mother and they were fantastic!  Jules and Tess were very industrious whilst Tom and I were at the party and they cleared out loads of vegetation from the backyard.  We're getting fed up with the fact that our garden is a complete mess and we're thinking of getting in a landscaper to see what we can do so that we can get some sort of flat area for the kids to play on and on which to put a swing/climbing frame.
