Jules completes the half-marathon

The main news this week is that Jules participated in a half-marathon around the city on Sunday morning. He was training diligently prior to going to Fiji: running a couple of times a week during his lunch break and doing a longer run on the weekend. However, his training during the past 3 weeks has consisted of 3 one hour runs (in total) and lots of beer and wine drinking?! He was hoping to do it in under 2 hrs 15 mins and actually achieved a very respectable 2 hrs 2 mins.

Tom has reconciled himself with playing soccer and I think actually quite enjoys it these days. I've included a movie clip of him doing a kick on from the side - blink and you'd miss it so watch closely!

The weather continues to be glorious although significantly cooler. We had a lovely walk/scooter along Manly beach this afternoon. Scootering works better for us at the moment than bike riding because both Tess and Tom are quite evenly matched so Tom doesn't throw himself on the floor when he's not going as fast as Tess.

We have been reading Winnie-the-Pooh at bedtime - Jules and I now argue over who's going to read the story - and Tess is a very appreciative audience. She sits there giggling particularly at Pooh's ponderings and the other morning at breakfast said "I hope you don't mind my saying but Daddy is very like Winnie-the-Pooh". I was wondering how long it would take her ............
