Lamb Shank Pie

Winter is definitely here with lots of rain and colder temperatures this week. I'm glad for the cooler weather as it gives me an excuse to break out all my favourite winter recipes - stews, soups, gratins, pies etc. Since I became obsessed with making my own chicken stock I have not stopped cooking - the freezer is overflowing and I'm thinking of starting an inventory so that I remember what's in there!

We had a busy weekend with the Mennies round for dinner on Friday night and then we were round at the Duthies on Saturday evening. Zoe and Paul were there too and it was a little unsettling as both couples are in the process of moving away from Sydney - Zoe and Paul to the Central Coast and Rob and Kate back to the UK - hey, what's wrong with Sydney?! We always eat very well Chez Duthie and I was particularly thrilled when Kate pulled a Lamb Shank Pie out of the oven - it was the perfect food for a perfect evening in perfect company!

On Saturday morning we lay in bed with our fingers crossed that Tom's soccer would be cancelled because of the rain but unfortunately they're die-hards here and Jules drew the short straw. The not so "Mighty Condors" got annihilated but luckily none of them know how to keep score so it doesn't get them down!

I'm afraid there are no photos again this week - I'm not doing very well at the moment sorry!
