Siblings divide

Tess unceremoniously kicked Tom out of her bedroom this week. They have shared a bedroom for the past couple of years at the request of both of them but Tess has clearly decided that her baby brother is just too annoying. On Saturday morning, with soccer cancelled due to rain, we moved Tom's bed back into his bedroom, "can we move Tess' bed in here now" he said once we'd finished. Tess is exulting in having her room back to herself, not being woken up at 5.30am and not having lots of boys toys cluttering up her room. In fact she's written a special sign for her door with the "rules" for entry into her bedroom.

On Friday Leanne and I took the little boys to Ikea - what a treat for them?! We did a bit of wandering around the furniture displays with the 2 of them jumping on all the furniture causing chaos and finally gave in and put them in SmalLand which they thought was brilliant. When we went to pick them up an hour later they were both glued to a massive television screen and didn't want to leave.

We had the Duthie's leaving party on Saturday night in a very trendy bar in Darlinghurst. It was quite fitting as the bar was one of the first ones we ever went to with Kate and Rob approximately 10 years ago and incidentally where we had pre-dinner drinks for my hen do. I had the most amazing cocktail with raspberry coulis, lime juice, vodka and cinnamon sugar around the rim of the glass - I will be recreating that one at home! Dad - I know you requested a photo but we ran out of time!

I make a point of only washing Tess' hair once a week in an attempt to ward off nits - apparently they don't like clean hair. However, after the weekly wash on Monday night I found her hair was riddled with nits so I immediately had to treat it which also means doing 2 more treatments a week apart. One of the photos shows Tess with her charming green nit cap and baby owl which was sent by Granny as a replacement for the one she lost and cried over for weeks and the other shows the 2 of them smeared in mud after a recent bush walk in the rain. It also shows that even with separate bedrooms T&T do still love each other very much!
