Naughty little boys

One of Tom's favourite people, although they had a rocky start to their relationship, is Charlie and he spent the morning with us on Friday. It was a beautiful morning so I took the 2 boys to Tania Park where they played at being Bear Grylls in the forest and then played motorbikes zooming around with special sound effects. I did more playing around with my Hipstamatic app as you can see.

Tom has taken an aversion to strangers who talk to him. I know I ought to be encouraging this aversion but sometimes he is very rude and it is very embarrassing. Take the example when we were in the greengrocer and a very jolly, rotund Italian man started talking to Tom. Tom stared at him as if he were from outer space and then said "I don't like fat people talking to me" at which point I took a great interest in the carrots I was trying to choose. I made the mistake of recounting this tale to Jules whilst we were in the car with the kids and there was an uncomfortable silence whilst Jules tried to stop himself from shaking with laughter.

On Sunday, after brunch with Jules' cousin Michelle who was over from NZ for the weekend, we went to see Shrek 3D as a school fundraiser with 500 other children from Balgowlah Heights Public School. It was actually quite enjoyable all of us watching the movie together and then talking about it afterwards - it's a sign of the children growing up that we're now able to do these sorts of activities.
