Tess and Thomas

It was a funny week with the first day of school on Tuesday followed by ANZAC day, a public holiday, on Wednesday so they only really had two "proper" days.  Tess had band camp which is where the 3 school bands Junior, Senior and Concert get together for intensive workshops and some outdoor activities thrown in.  It involves a sleepover (this is the first time Junior band have been invited to sleepover and personally I think an imposed sleepover at the age of 8 is a bit young!) which Tess was not keen on doing but wanted to give it a try however at 9.45pm she pulled the pin and I had to go and collect her.  Apparently she was not the only one!

ANZAC day was a quiet day for us with a walk down to Manly and thousands of rounds of the game Uno which the kids love and Jules and I quite enjoy because it's relatively short!

The kids are beginning to spend more time playing with the 2 kids from next door which is brilliant.  Charlie is 10 and George is 12 but they both seem very happy to play with Tess and Tom.  George in particular is very patient with Tom so he doesn't feel left out.  The 4 of them congregate outside the 2 houses and play on their scooters/skateboards or climb trees etc.  Tess and Charlie have discovered a part of the fence between the 2 gardens that they can just manage to climb over.  Poor Tom is just a little too short so has to be more conventional and use the doors!!
