The blog is late this week because Lenka has been flat out with all her school commitments. She's now school senior band joint co-ordinator, canteen finance person, dance group costume creator, netball team manager on top of being busy running the kids around and doing what seems to be a million things. I think she's enjoying it. It definitely gives her bossy side a good work out on someone other than me and the kids (so my deafness has been a little more variable recently). Best of all she gets to use a clipboard and write notes. And point with a pen. She is pretty darn good at that.
So what's happened this week? Kids had a play date on Friday. It was the last twilight race for us on the J24. It was a great night with all the boats finishing in the dark. With their nav lights on sprinkled round North Harbour it was quite a picture. Saturday morning and Tess, Tom and I went down to Manly to hit the beach but the surf was huge so we retreated to Clontarf (a harbour beach) and spent some lazy hours in the sun swimming around. Lenka was sewing costumes. Saturday evening & Tess was at Indy's party so Lenks and I took Tom to one of our favourite Manly dinner spots for Fajitas at "Bench". On Sunday Lenks and Tess had 6 hours (yes its pretty serious stuff) at netball, Tom and I went rugby boot shopping and then hit the beach. Then Lenks spent hours having to write up netball notes and send band emails. We had a lovely Sunday evening round the WMs house and caught up with Bels' parents who are staying with them. Dunc had been extracting honey from his bees so we got to taste and take home some real home made honey and honey comb which was delicious. In between all that we baby sat Floyd, the Mennies black labrador, he's such a great dog and Tom and I had a lovely time taking him up to the park on the headland over looking the harbour for a gentle exercise.
Think that was it. Feel a bit tired having re-read that so i'm going to sign off...
