Sunday Surfing

Since having watched Storm Surfers Tom is taking his ambition of being a professional surfer when he grows up very seriously.  He had a lesson after school on Wednesday, went surfing once on Saturday and twice on Sunday.  We watched another surfing movie, A Deeper Shade of Blue, on Saturday night whilst Tess was at a pampering birthday party.  The party was a late one and Tess needed to have a little lie down on the beach to recover.

Rugby training has started and Tom went to try out his new rugby boots with Floyd last weekend.
Who's happier??
On Friday night we had the Manly Yacht Club annual "End of Twilight" party which Jules was responsible for organising.  It all went very well and I had a slightly sore head the next morning to prove it.

During the week I tried a new bottle of wine which was a Pinot Grigio from Italy.  I don't know whether it's because we mainly drink "New World" wines but I was shocked to discover it had a cork and panicked momentarily as I wondered whether we still owned a corkscrew.

Tess and Tom's eating habits constantly test me because we have Tess who pretends to be a vegetarian (although she doesn't eat a sufficiently large variety of vegetables to truly qualify) and Tom who is a definite meat-a-saurus.  One dinner this week consisted of ribs, coleslaw and baked potatoes.  Tess' plate held only coleslaw, Tom's plate held only ribs and neither of them touched the potatoes - they clearly don't have a strong enough Gidney-gene!
