On Saturday Jules had the Manly Yacht Club AGM where he resigned from his position on the board. He's really enjoyed being more involved with the club but his role as Director of Club Hall and Events was a large one and he found it too much with his work commitments. I, meanwhile, was at a friend's 50th birthday party which was excellent fun. We drove down her street and commented on the amount of 50 speed limit signs only to realise they were actually signs for her party (the friends in the car were also members of Comfortably Dumb - are you getting the picture!!).
Tess is part of the Senior Dance Group again this year and they had their first performance of "Wonkalicious" at the Glen Street Theatre on Friday night. I am so not a dance parent as I fail miserably with all the make-up and hair styles required. I was quite proud of the bun that I did in the morning for the dress rehearsal but prior to the show one of the other mums took me aside and asked whether she could do Tess' hair for me because the dance teacher had been going mad with the hairspray trying to stick down all the sticky-outy bits which wouldn't have been there if I'd done the bun properly in the first place. In fact I've just received an email from that same mum asking whether I need help with Tess' hair for the performance tomorrow - I've taken it to be a rhetorical question.
The temperatures have dropped considerably this week which has been a bit of a shock to the system. It was 8 degrees at 7.40 on Saturday morning and Tom ended up playing rugby in the rain with an amazing rainbow for a backdrop. We've been given some body armour which he wore for the first time - we're hoping that it will help him be a little more courageous with his tackling and he didn't do too badly on Saturday.
