Aussie Flyer maiden voyage

John has worked diligently for the past 2 weeks stripping back, filling and repainting Aussie Flyer, the mirror dinghy that he bought off Gumtree for $250, and we took her down to Clontarf for her maiden voyage on Saturday afternoon.  Although I had borrowed a trailer from our next-door neighbours the big boys decided that it was just as easy to put the boat on the roof of the Land Rover. Jules has some fairly impressive bruises that suggest their decision may not have been the right one.

There was a gentle breeze and the sun was shining so perfect conditions for a sail.  Everyone had a lovely time and we're looking forward to lots more sailing in the future.

In our excitement we forgot to put life jackets on the kids for the first sail.

One very happy sailor!

Rae sent us this awesome photo during the week.  It took the kids a while to work out who it was.  Now we know where Tom gets his surfing skills from................!
