John brings rain

John arrived on Thursday and so did the rain.  It literally hasn't stopped and everything has that slightly unpleasant damp feel about it.  Jules has lots of sailing planned and fortunately rain is nothing to sailors so there was the twilight on Friday and a "round the islands" race on Sunday.

The kids had the school swimming carnival on Tuesday and both did very well coming either 3rd or 4th in their heats.  It's the first year they've properly competed as we had quite a big break from swimming lessons because both of them hated them.  However, they're now both in squads and love it so I think the break was worthwhile.

I, foolishly, have signed up to be Assistant Coach of Tess' netball team.  One wonders what I have to offer given I've never played netball but I attended a coaching course on Saturday and have lots more in the diary.

We went out for dinner at Ribs & Rumps on Saturday evening with the Wakes-Millers.  Whilst we were out Custard thoroughly disgraced himself by breaking into John's room and discovering a packet of mints and a bar of chocolate.  We got home to find him feeling very sorry for himself!
