Jules' birthday present
Jules likes doing water safety for nippers which involves him borrowing a club surf mall to paddle around on making sure no nippers are in trouble (we ignore the irony that so far Jules is the only one to have gotten hurt whilst on water safety 😆). He has been on the look out for his own second hand board for quite a while as they don't come up for sale all that often and luckily for him he found one last weekend. It's very striking and Tom has urged Jules to make sure he's not a kook whilst he's on it as he will be easily identifiable!

Tom worried about Jules being a kook is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. You will recall that Tom got injured last week by a surprise rugby tackle. He was healing nicely and about to start back at all his sports when he managed to injure himself again. One lunchtime his mates were playing with a ball which landed near Tom. He lined himself up with the ball, went to give it a big kick, missed and landed flat on his back - again! Even he saw the funny side of that one but it's meant another week of no sport. Sunday was the first time he was allowed to try anything and only because the nipper trainer is also his physio. Luckily it all went well and we're hoping that a final check up with the physio on Tuesday will give him the all clear.
Tess is playing netball again this term which she really enjoys. Her games are normally on Saturday morning but this week it was on Friday evening at Homebush Olympic Park. Once I'd resigned myself to fighting through rush hour traffic to get there I was able to appreciate not having an early Saturday morning wake up.
Tess is GD
There was great excitement up at our local dog park on Thursday as they did a big back burn exercise to help minimise the risk of bush fires this summer which is looking to be a very dry one. The helicopters were busy all day keeping an eye on the flames which were visible from Tess' school over in Balmoral!
