It's a dog's life

With Custard, and now Ted, we have constantly been a little obsessed with making sure they have comfortable beds.  Custard enjoyed a round red and white striped number with high sides that was lined with a soft blanket and had a pillow inside.  Ted now owns 6 beds and they are scattered around the house in various places that we believe he might like to sit - one in the kitchen, one to sunbake on the deck, one in the laundry, one in the living room - you get the picture.  We have combined the 5th and 6th beds to make the ultimate dog bed and Ted is very happy with it!

During the week Tom got surprise rugby tackled from behind by a girl in his year.  He landed flat on his face and hurt his back to the extent that he could only lie flat on it for the rest of the day and has been very careful with it since.  In good mum fashion I tried to get him back to swimming, surfing and water polo on Friday but 15 minutes of swimming warm ups and he had to get out of the pool because he was in too much pain.  I saw a physio friend of mine at water polo and she said that as long as he's in pain he should not do any sport - oops!  The poor girl was suspended from school for 2 days which we thought was a bit harsh and we wrote to the school to say so.  The upside of Tom being injured was that we had a much quieter weekend than usual with no surfing, nippers or water polo.  After a slightly alcoholic night at the Mennies on Saturday Jules and I headed into Manly for a walk and a quick dip.  Ted didn't want us to take his photo.
