Tom and Jules after doing the Bold & Beautiful swim
John, Rae and I did the Opera House Tour which is always so much fun. We couldn't get into any of the restaurants that I wanted to take them to in the City so we ended up back at Hugo's. It just can't be beaten and we had a lovely table on the outside deck in the sunshine - just perfect.
We also decided to tackle the study which has been a mess for a very long time. I had recently been thinking about how to reorganise it and knew that John and Rae would have some great ideas. We spent a happy few hours at Ikea and then rather more hours putting all the furniture together. The result is spectacular and is now one of our favourite places in the house.
One evening we headed over to Leichhardt to catch up for dinner with Kate and Rob. They had just come back from an amazing holiday in India which gave me travel envy!
John, Rae and I watched a thrilling game of basketball - the first of the season for Tess who scored an incredible basket.

Ted ate some chocolate up at the park on Tuesday and got progressively sicker during the week refusing all food. On Friday I took him to the vet who thought he might be able to feel a blockage in his intestines. An x-ray later and Ted was operated on to remove an offending sock. We were delighted that the vet took a photo of the sock so that we were able to identify it's owner - Tom!! Ted usually averages one sock every couple of weeks so we're still not clear why this one got stuck. He spent two nights in hospital but is now back home and doing well.
For our final night with John and Rae we, of course, ended up back at Hugo's with the kids. It was a very cold and windy night so this time we were inside but we still had a fabulous evening. It's always so sad to say goodbye but Jules is back in the UK later this month and I'll be over in October so it didn't feel quite so painful this time.
