The Farm with John, Rae and the Rivers

John and Rae arrived in Sydney late on Thursday evening.  We allowed them one night to recover from their flight and then whisked them off to the farm for a long weekend with the Rivers.  We had an amazing time as usual riding motorbikes, feeding the cows, exploring the farm, going on long bush walks and lunch at The Globe in Rylstone.  We were very pleased that Ted seems to have got over his ridiculous fear of being at the farm and behaved more bravely!

We had another 2 days at the farm after the Rivers left so we took the opportunity to head into Mudgee for some wine tasting.  We discovered Di Lusso winery which, as well as having a very nice Pinot Grigio, also has an incredibly good pizza restaurant.  We sat in the sun whilst the kids played boules and drank a light Italian-style red eating exceptional pizza - a perfect afternoon.  Before leaving we bought six bottles of wine to take with us.  A couple of days later we were looking for the bottles of wine only to realise that we had left them on top of a large bin at the winery.  I immediately phoned the winery and after a bit of hunting around the staff member found the box exactly where we'd left it!  In our defence we had had a few glasses of wine and were focused on getting Ted into the car - better that we forget the wine than the dog!
