Jules in the UK, normal week at home

Jules has been on a flying visit to the UK and Germany for work.  He managed to get both weekends either side of the work week at Great Barford.  The first weekend was John's birthday and the second weekend was the May bank holiday weekend so excellent timing.

The kids and I had a quiet week with school in full throttle.  I had Tom's parent/teacher interviews and discovered that Tom didn't hand in a single piece of Maths homework last term - I'm glad the teacher didn't feel it worth notifying me of this fact and I only found out during the interview because I directly asked the question!!  Overall though it sounds like he's doing well and he's certainly very popular with his teachers which is surely a good sign.

Tess had basketball on Saturday and it was a nail biting game with the winning basket scored by the other team with 5 seconds left on the clock.  I took the picture when Tess was given 2 shots at goal - my mastery of the basketball game and its rules is impressive!

It was the annual Balmoral Burn on Sunday morning which Tess has participated in each year since joining Queenwood.  The theme was pyjamas and the pjs Tess and a number of the girls decided to wear says a lot about the socio-economic environment of the school *insert eye roll emoji*.

On Sunday afternoon Tess had a piano concert in preparation for her exam this week.  She played absolutely beautifully and I had a teary moment where I thought how much pleasure it would have given Grandma Kveta to hear her play.
