Ted the Pirate

When we were up at the farm 3 weeks ago something happened to Ted's eye which turned him into a pirate with it closed most of the time.  We tried rinsing it regularly with saline and giving him eyedrops but once we were back in Sydney I took him to the vet who decided he had probably been squirted in the eye by a stink bug (they live on citrus trees and we have a lemon and a lime tree up at the farm).  After 2 further weeks and 2 more vet visits Ted's eye was still half closed and weeping quite a lot so I decided to get a second opinion and took him to another vet.  Ted was sedated and the vet quickly found a large grass seed under his third eyelid which was causing all the trouble.  Ted is happily now back to his normal self and we will be changing vet permanently!

We spent more time working in the garden this weekend.  We've almost finished one section of the retaining wall but have decided we need to fix the "kink" in the other section.  We hired Tom and Harry to move all the earth into the finished section - it only took them 1.5 hours and they claimed to really enjoy it.  We might be putting them to work more regularly.

Jules and I had a quick walk down in Manly on Sunday evening to make the most of the beautiful weather.

I received a lovely WhatsApp from my godfather, Tim Hall, who attached a photo he had found of our wedding.  We don't have any digital wedding photos so it was lovely to receive this one.
