Week 6 of lockdown

Lockdown officially started on 22 March which means we've been doing this now for 6 weeks.  To be honest our restrictions have been very light compared to the rest of the world and for our household it has had minimal effect other than a significant reduction in MUbering which has been very welcome. Tom has still been surfing, with one friend at a time, and Tess has been socialising and exercising also with one friend at a time.  Jules and I have had more video calls with family in the UK which has been lovely and will hopefully continue once this pandemic is over.

Jules has been working hard on the weekends on our backyard landscaping project.  This weekend was a big one with most of the retaining walls built.  We're not entirely sure what the final vision is but it's becoming clearer as we sort out the structural issues which help resolve the ground level issues i.e. there are so many different levels and the garden falls away steeply at the bottom.

I had a lovely late afternoon bush walk with a friend on Sunday evening which was the perfect antidote to all our gardening work.

One of the joys for me of having everyone at home and more time on my hands is that I'm able to spend more time cooking and I have more meals to cook for.  I've been experimenting with different breads, baked new cakes, tried longer recipes - it all makes me happy.  Tom has been pining after an açai bowl which obviously does not require cooking or any length of time but they are ridiculously pretty and you can feel so self-satisfied about how healthy they are!

And finally a gorgeous photo of 3 month old George who appeared fascinated with our conversation during a video call over the weekend - he fell asleep at about the 30 minute mark :)
