It's cool in the pool

We've had a week of amazing weather and the kids have gone swimming every afternoon after kindy.  Even I have been in the pool fairly often as it's a balmy 29 degrees in the water at the moment - just about perfect for me!

Tess starts school this week so there's been a lot of getting ready.  For me, it's the first time I've had to pack a daily lunchbox and so I've been doing my research downloading recipes from the internet.  I made and froze banana bread and raspberry surprise muffins on Saturday as lunchbox treats - it's probably the first and last time that will happen!  We had a kindy morning tea at a local park on Friday - I always find those events excruciatingly painful as the kids have no interest in meeting other children in their class and the mothers stand around desperately trying to strike up a conversation and make a good impression.  We survived the experience and went and had an ice cream to celebrate!

Because of school starting we had a wonderfully lazy weekend at home.  Jules had to work on Saturday morning so our friends Leanne, Noah and Charlie came round for a play and a swim.  In the late afternoon we went to the Wakes-Millers to celebrate Tenzin's 3rd birthday - Tess and Tom love going there because they spend all their time in the garden stroking the rabbits.  Sunday was another lazy day by the pool - in fact I don't think we left the house at all.  Craig, Hunter and Fletcher came round to join us in the afternoon and Craig started a human train in the pool which they all loved.
Tess, the budding photographer, got hold of our little camera and took this great photo of Tom and Hunter .  It's an early night for us all in preparation for The Big Day!!
