We have just had a week of constant rain, the garden is looking great but the pool is about to overflow and I'm a bit worried about the neighbours at the bottom of the garden.
Tess has finished her second week of school and I'm glad to report it's still a huge hit. She's had her first Japanese class, scripture class and dance class so it's all go although she is obviously incapable of telling me any details of her day! Tom is faring better at kindy as he is benefitting from Tess' superstar status - whenever Tess helps do drop off or pick up all the other little girls who used to know Tess come running over and ask her about school as do all the teachers. Tom then finds that all these little girls feel a responsibility towards him and look after him during the day, pushing him in the toy pram in the playground, helping him do drawings, getting him a drink if he hurts himself - you get the picture!
Our good friend Andrew and his daughter Marianne came and spent the weekend with us which is a regular occurrence whenever Andrew is in Sydney and one that Tess looks forward to immensely as the girls are the same age and have about the same amount of attitude! We had Julia, Michael, Ryan and Maggie round for dinner on Saturday night and managed to fit in a game of Cranium whilst the kids watched a DVD - it was the 2 girls v the 3 boys and the girls almost won with the boys failing on tasks such as "write down the first 3 words that you think of in relation to the word underwear" which doesn't sound particularly challenging but their answers were: bra, knickers boxer shorts; dad's big pants; sexy, lacy, black!
Craig and Lisa took pity on Tom with the 2 girls around and took him with Hunter and Fletcher to a dinosaur exhibition at the museum followed by lots of playing train tracks and the inevitable play fighting! Tom said that his favourite thing at the museum was the big dinosaur but Lisa told us that he got a little bit scared and ended up being carried around most of the exhibition usefully providing Lisa's weight-lifting workout for the week.
The pictures were in Craig and Lisa's backyard before the rain started. Tom and Hunter had independently got into their Superman outfits and were calling over the deck to show them off only to find that there were 3 Supermen and a fairy!
