Cupping and Spooning.....

....it's not what it sounds like - it's worse......if you're Jules!  On Wednesday Jules developed an excruciating pain in his neck coupled with a splitting headache which no amount of Panadeine Forte or Nurofen could shift.  He tried to make an appointment with a physiotherapist but the earliest he could get was Monday morning.  On Saturday, with the pain still out of control we pulled in a couple of favours and got him an appointment.  The physiotherapist practices some Chinese medicine and decided the best thing for Jules was some cupping and spooning to sort out his Qi - the photos show clearly the after effects of the cupping which is literally placing hot glass cups directly on the skin and allowing them to create a vacuum which helps increase circulation and provides the most incredible bruising!

On Friday I had a School Retro Trivia night (Jules went to bed early with his headache) and was horrified to learn that these days Retro means 70s, 80s and 90s - what happened to the 60s and since when were the 90s retro???!!!  A bit the worse for wear on Saturday morning I headed off to Balmain with Lisa to visit the shop of one of my favourite Australian designers - I am determined to do my bit in order to rescue the economy and managed to find 4 beautiful dresses to add to my collection!  In the evening we had the Mennies, Jamos, Reids and Emma's parents round for a kid-free evening to celebrate Lisa and my birthdays this Thursday.  We had a lovely evening drinking Moscow Mules and Champagne (not at the same time), remembering to acknowledge Earth Hour and finishing with a fierce game of Cranium.

Sunday was a quiet day with the kids playing in the garden in their pyjamas for most of the morning whilst we nursed hangovers.  Jules and Alex went sailing in the afternoon and came 2nd which was a good effort.  It's an early night all round tonight!
